About
The Department of Information Technology – Alangalang traces its roots to the Alangalang Agro-Industrial School, established in 1971 as a secondary agricultural school. It later expanded into tertiary education and eventually became part of the Visayas State University system.
As the campus diversified its academic offerings beyond agriculture, environmental studies, and teacher education, Information Technology emerged as one of its undergraduate degree offerings. Following VSU's organizational restructuring, the DIT-A is now part of the Faculty of Computing.
DIT-A serves students from Alangalang and neighboring communities in Leyte and the wider region. Its academic work centers on practical computing competencies, information technology, laboratory work, and academic activities.
