Scholarships & Grants

Students of the Faculty of Computing may avail themselves of various VSU-funded, government-funded, or privately funded scholarship and grant opportunities, subject to the eligibility requirements of each program.

Visayas State University

University Scholarship

  • General Point Average of 1.000–1.450 in the preceding semester

₱1,600 per month

College Scholarship

  • General Point Average of 1.451–1.750 in the preceding semester

₱1,200 per month

Academic A Scholarship

  • General Point Average of 1.751–2.000 in the preceding semester

₱650 per month

Honorific Scholarship

  • Freshmen who graduated as Valedictorian or Salutatorian
  • Renewable for the second semester provided the student obtains a General Point Average of 2.50 or better, with no incomplete or failing grade in the preceding semester

USSC Officer's Grant

Available to incumbent members of the USSC Executive Board — President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and six Senators.

  • Incumbent member of the USSC Executive Board
  • Certification of the position held must be submitted

₱400 per month

Varsity Grant

  • Qualified varsity athlete
  • Carrying at least 15 units
  • No more than one failing or incomplete grade incurred

Culture and Arts Grant

  • Qualified through screening conducted by the VSU Dance Troupe or VSU Chorale Ensemble
  • Carrying at least 15 units
  • No more than one failing or incomplete grade incurred

Indigenous Peoples and Persons with Disabilities Grant

  • Qualified Indigenous Person or Person with Disability, as certified by the appropriate government agency such as the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples or the Department of Social Welfare and Development

How to Apply

General qualifications

  • Filipino citizen and continuing college student with no record of a disciplinary offense, receiving no other scholarship or grant at the same time except as provided under Republic Act No. 10931

Requirements and deadlines

Submit a duly accomplished scholarship application form, together with the documents required by the specific program, to the Dean of Students Office (DSO) – Office of Student Scholarships, Grants, and Awards. Scholarship requirements should generally be submitted within two weeks from the start of classes during the regular semester; grant applications may generally be submitted within one month from the start of classes. Offerings, qualifications, benefits, and requirements may change, so coordinate with the DSO for the latest guidelines.
