COMPUTER SCIENCE VISCANS BAGS SECOND PLACE IN THE BYTEFORWARD HACKATHON

2 teams of Computer Science students from Visayas State University displayed their innovation and problem-solving skills at the 𝗕𝘆𝘁𝗲𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗛𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗻 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘆𝗮𝘀 𝗟𝗲𝗴, held last July 24-25, 2025, at the Convention Complex, Palo, Leyte:

Both teams were mentored by Sir Jomari Joseph Barrera, who provided guidance and support from their hackathon preparations to the program proper.

Participants were challenged to forge digital solutions within 24 hours, addressing real-world problems faced by local SMEs. Amidst the tough competition, 𝗖𝗦 𝗖𝗼𝗱𝗲 shone victoriously with their project 𝗢𝗺𝗻𝗶𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗹, a Centralised Inventory Management System designed to streamline inventory updates across online marketplaces using APIs.

Through their unwavering focus and fervent teamwork, they secured Second Place in the event. Along with exclusive goodies, transformative learning experiences, and a hefty cash prize, Team CS Code will also represent VSU at the National Byte Forward Hackathon, to be held during the 51st Philippine Business Conference and Expo (PBC&E) on October 20-21 at the SMX Convention Centre, Manila.

Their remarkable milestone highlights that CS doesn't only stand for Computer Science, but for Creative Solutions.
