Biography
Mr. William Evan P. Mancao is an Instructor I at Visayas State University – Isabel Campus under the Department of Information Technology. His professional profile is a unique intersection of high-level technical expertise, international theological scholarship, and pedagogical training.
He began his career with a strong academic foundation, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a BS in Information Technology from the University of San Carlos in 2013. Following graduation, he entered the tech industry as a Software Development Engineer at Tieto Global Oy, where he gained hands-on experience in enterprise-level development. He also contributed to the Philippine Associated Smelting and Refining (PASAR) Corporation in both IT technical support and accounting capacities.
In a notable transition to humanitarian and philosophical studies, Mr. Mancao spent seven years being formed to the priesthood in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, at the Archdiocesan Missionary Seminary Redemptoris Mater of Vancouver, while studying philosophy and theology in Mission, BC, at the Seminary of Christ the King. There, he earned a Master of Divinity and a Bachelor of Theology (with Honors), developing specialized skills in qualitative research, leadership, and interpersonal relations. Upon returning to the Philippines, he formalized his role in education by becoming a Licensed Professional Teacher (LPT) and serving as a Senior High School Teacher at LIDE Learning Center, Inc.
Currently, Mr. Mancao is advancing his technical specialization through a Master in Information Technology at the Cebu Institute of Technology – University. His technical toolkit is broad, spanning traditional languages like C, C#, and Java to modern web stacks including React.js, Django, and MongoDB.
As an educator at VSU, he bridges the gap between complex logic and humanistic values. He teaches core IT subjects such as Database Systems and Integrative Programming while leveraging his diverse background to mentor students in both technical proficiency and ethical responsibility. His creative portfolio includes diverse projects ranging from web development using Wix to digital media production and animation.
