Biography

Nelson H. Tejara is an Instructor III at Visayas State University (VSU), where he has been teaching since June 2014. He brings a unique blend of academic training, industry experience, and a strong commitment to research that addresses real-world challenges in agriculture and education. He began his career as a Visiting Instructor at Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) and briefly worked as an Outsourcing IT Specialist before fully dedicating himself to academe.

He earned his Master of Information Technology from the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) as a CHED K-12 Scholar, completing a capstone project on "Near-real-time watershed streamflow forecasting using the Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT)." He also completed 36 units towards a Master of Science in Information Technology at SLSU and holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from SLSU, where he graduated Cum Laude and was recognized as Programmer of the Year.

Mr. Tejara is a Licensed Professional Teacher and holds Civil Service Eligibility (PD 907) as an honor graduate. His research is highly applied and interdisciplinary. He is currently leading two significant institutional research projects at VSU: the development of an Interactive Electronic Module (IEMo) in Mathematics for online learning, and the Farm2Table Management Information System for farmers and business establishments in Baybay City. His work has been presented at international conferences, including the 1st UPY International Conference on Applied Science and Education in Indonesia and the 7th Annual International Conference on Environmental Science. He is also a DOST PCIEERD scholar for the Data Science Pathway program and an active member of several professional organizations for educators and researchers.
