Graeme Xyber N. Pastoril earned his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, magna cum laude, from Visayas State University in 2023. Before joining the academe, he spent close to three years as a software developer at an accounting and business outsourcing firm, where he built and maintained the company’s internal business systems and managed their cloud infrastructure. Starting as the firm’s sole in-house developer and later working alongside a second developer, he handled projects across the full development lifecycle, from gathering requirements with end users to deploying and supporting systems in production.

He continues to do industry work alongside teaching, and aims to bring this hands-on experience into the classroom to help students connect technical concepts with how systems are built and used in real organizations. He is currently in his first year of the Master of Information Systems program at the University of the Philippines Open University, where he is exploring potential research directions. Outside of work, he contributes to open-source software projects from time to time.
