Biography
Eugene Mangaoang is an Instructor III in the DCST at VSU, where he has been serving since 2012. With over a decade of academic experience, he contributes to instruction, curriculum development, program assessment, and student mentorship within the department. His work reflects a strong commitment to advancing computer science education through rigorous academic standards and meaningful student engagement.
He earned his BS in Computer Science with cum laude distinction and completed his MS in Computer Science under the DOST-ASTHRDP scholarship, reflecting his strong academic foundation and sustained scholarly performance.
Mr. Mangaoang has authored research articles that have received citations in the academic community, demonstrating the relevance and impact of his scholarly work. He was also invited to serve as a peer reviewer for the Mindanao Journal of Science and Technology, where he evaluated a scholarly article on feature engineering and optimization of convolutional neural networks for leaf classification. His involvement in peer review reflects his engagement in upholding research quality and contributing to scholarly discourse.
He remains dedicated to fostering analytical thinking, intellectual discipline, and ethical responsibility among students, while actively supporting initiatives that strengthen the BSCS program and institutional development.
